The block editor (Gutenberg) is built into WordPress, free and generally lighter, and with a block theme it can edit the whole site. Elementor is a separate plugin with a visual, drag-and-drop editor that most people find quicker to design with, and Elementor Pro adds forms, popups, the Theme Builder and WooCommerce templates in one place. Choose the block editor for lean, content-led sites; choose Elementor when design freedom and speed of building matter more.

When the block editor is the better choice
- Blogs and content sites where writing matters more than layout.
- Developers who build custom blocks.
- Sites where every kilobyte counts.
When Elementor is the better choice
- Business sites built fast for clients who will edit them visually.
- Sites needing forms, popups and WooCommerce templates without stacking plugins.
- Teams that already know Elementor.
You can use both: the block editor for blog posts, Elementor for designed pages.
