Elementor Pro's Form widget cannot post a message into WhatsApp by itself, but it can do the next best thing: email you the full lead and then redirect the visitor to a wa.me link that opens a chat with your number and a pre-written message. Add the Email and Redirect actions under Actions After Submit, put your wa.me link in the redirect field, and test it on a phone.
Step by step
- Add the Form widget and create the fields you need: name, phone, and one field for what they want.
- Under Actions After Submit, add Email (and Collect Submissions if you want a copy in WordPress) and Redirect.
- In the Redirect section, enter a link in the form
https://wa.me/923001234567?text=Hi%2C%20I%20just%20filled%20your%20form, using your own number in international format without the plus sign. - Submit the form from your phone. The email should arrive and WhatsApp should open with the message ready to send.
Putting form answers into the message
Elementor lets you place field values into some action settings using each field's shortcode, shown in the field's Advanced tab. Whether it works inside the redirect link depends on your version, so test it; if it does not, keep the message generic and rely on the email for the details.
Why keep the email at all
Many visitors close WhatsApp without pressing send. The email, or the saved submission, is your record of the lead in that case. If emails do not arrive, see form emails not sending.
Fully automatic alternatives
Pushing every lead into a WhatsApp chat without the visitor's help needs the WhatsApp Business Platform through an automation service or plugin, which has its own costs and approval process. For most small businesses, email plus redirect is enough.
