Elementor's Site Settings let you define global colours and global fonts once and use them in every widget. If you pick a global colour instead of typing a hex code, changing it later updates the whole site. It is in free Elementor, takes ten minutes, and is the single best habit for a site that stays consistent.
A ten-minute routine
- Open any page in Elementor, open the menu, and choose Site Settings.
- Under Global Colors, set Primary, Secondary, Text and Accent, and add a few custom ones such as a light background.
- Under Global Fonts, set Primary (headings), Secondary, Text and Accent. Use at most two font families.
- Under Typography and Buttons, set the defaults for body text, headings and buttons.
- From now on, choose these globals in every widget instead of typing values.
Fonts and speed
Every font family and weight is a download. Two families and three or four weights cover almost any site. If the site's audience is mostly on mobile data, consider a system font stack for body text.
When you inherit a messy site
If a site has hard-coded colours everywhere, set the globals anyway and replace values page by page as you edit. It takes a while once and saves time forever.
